How to find Hone?

Hone New Town is located at Number 26, Howe St, Edinburgh, EH3 6TG. We are tucked between Sally Hansen and Sainsbury’s. Please use the intercom system to access the first floor where you will find our studio.

Hone Goldenacre is located at 8A, Montagu Terrace, Edinburgh, EH3 5QX. We are street level and the studio can be accessed through advanced bookings only.

How do I get to Hone?

You will find Hone New Town between the city centre and the Stockbridge area. We are a 15-minute walk away from Waverley train station and a 10/15-minute walk from most city centre bus stops. If you are travelling by car, you can make use of pay-and-display on-street parking. We advise leaving plenty of time to find a parking space during peak times.

You will find Hone Goldenacre in the vibrant area of Inverleith. We are a 30-minute walk from Edinburgh city centre or have frequent bus services passing our studio on Inverleith Row and Ferry Road. If you are travelling by car, you can make use of pay-and-display on-street parking. We advise leaving plenty of time to find a parking space during peak times.

What time should I arrive?

We recommended arriving 5-10 minutes before class starts. If it is your first class, please arrive 10 minutes early to find us, meet your instructor and familiarise yourself with the equipment.

What facilities do you have at Hone?

We have a changing room and toilet facilities. There is a small storage area for your valuables; we recommend bringing only what you need to class.

What do I bring to class?

Feel free to bring a water bottle with you (they can be filled in our studio) to stay hydrated during your workout. We recommend wearing something comfortable that you feel confident moving in and removing jewellery at home prior to visiting our studio to ensure safety while using the reformer machine. Grip socks and sweat towels are optional.

What class should I book?

Please refer to our classes page where you will be able to choose the option that suits you best.

All new clients must attend one Apprentice class. It is our professional duty of care to ensure that every client can demonstrate a safe understanding of our equipment before taking an intermediate/ advanced level class. Every studio is different and your safety is our priority.

Is there an age limit?

You must be at least 16 years old to attend our classes.

Is Hone right for me if I have an injury?

Our classes are not physio-led, however, if you are returning to Hone with a minor injury, we recommend attending Apprentice classes to complement your rehabilitation.

How often should I attend classes at Hone?

If you are new to Hone, we recommended attending classes twice a week with rest days in between to build fitness and form on the reformer. As your fitness increases and your body starts to adapt, you can attend as often as you wish.

Can I participate in classes if I am pregnant or recently given birth?

You can attend our group classes up until 13 weeks; after this, we recommend prenatal classes or private 1:1 sessions. Our group classes are too big to give you the personalised attention and safe adaptions required as you move into the second and third trimesters.

We recommend waiting 6 weeks to return to classes if you had no complications at birth and 8 weeks post-C-section and/or complications at birth. Please make sure you have received the all-clear from a health professional before returning to class.

Do I need to book classes before visiting the studio?

Yes, all classes must be booked and pre-paid before visiting the studio. You can find further information on all classes here and how to book here.

Can I book for someone else?

You cannot book someone else under your name. If you wish to book, buy and manage Mindbody on behalf of someone else you can set up a family account here.

How do class expiries work?

All class expiries (including personal training appointments) start from the date of purchase. Please use our schedule to check if there is space in the class you wish to book before buying a pass.

How do waitlists work?

You can add yourself to the waitlist if a class is full. If a space becomes available, you will be automatically added to the class. If you wish to cancel your space on the waitlist, you should do so in the same way you would normally cancel a class (a 12-hour window applies for late cancellations).

It is your responsibility to opt in to SMS/ emails to receive notifications about your movement on the waitlist.

If you are moved into the class from the waitlist in the 12 hour window and you no longer want the space, you will lose your pass and no refunds will be given. Please make sure you have credit on your account when you add yourself to a waitlist. All unpaid class reservations will be removed.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, we do! Vouchers can be purchased through our Hone Pilates App or Mindbody, and emailed direct to the recipient on a date of your choice.

What if I turn up late?

You will under no circumstances be accepted into a class after it has started. We understand things happen that are out of our control, but the safety of our clients is paramount to us (the warm-up is essential for injury prevention) and we also want to minimise disruption to our classes. If you are late to class your pass will not be refunded.

Do you have a cancellation Window?

Hone operates a strict 12-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel your class within this window, you will be charged, and no refunds will be offered. Hone is a small business, and late cancellations often result in taking up a space that could have otherwise been allocated to another person if sufficient notice had been provided.
